Since starting this company, they and their amazing team have worked together to bring a level of excellence to Southern cuisine while making sure everyone they come into contact with knows how much they’re loved. In fact, love is the first and main ingredient in everything they do.
Derrick Jones, Executive Chef
With over 30 years in the restaurant and catering industry, Derrick brings an extensive and diverse culinary background to his work with Southboy. He is most beloved for his stellar service as the executive chef of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in North Indianapolis where he was instrumental in developing their catering arm at both the North and Downtown locations. He’s also been a key part of executive chef and catering teams in a number of other premium restaurant environments–from French cuisine to Pan-Asian to contemporary American. He even dedicated a year-long sabbatical to studying the basic elements of Southern cooking. It is this diversity and caliber of food that influences his work here at Southboy today and he truly infuses love into every meal (and dessert) he prepares for his clients.
